Man faces drug charges after car crash

A lot of measures are taken to ensure that illegal substances stay off the streets in Florida and other states across the nation. Based on recent reports, authorities in Fort Myers arrested a man following an accident that sent one person to the hospital. Preliminary investigation revealed that the single car crash occurred when the driver ran off of the road, became airborne and struck several trees. The passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital after he suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Authorities reported that the driver as determined to be impaired. Police said that he had a blood alcohol content level of 0.142, far above the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Authorities said they also located a bag containing 97 THC cartridges for vaping. These cartridges were inside imprinted boxes, and a digital scale was also located. The driver was placed under arrest for a DUI, possession with intent to sale, drug equipment possession, possession of a controlled substance and probation violation.
