For the Kaylor brothers, law is in their blood. They come from a long line of lawyers. Matthew and David Kaylor were born and raised in Polk County and have spent their legal careers working in the community. Local judges and prosecutors know the Kaylors always come to court prepared.

David S. Kaylor

Attorney

David S. Kaylor was born and raised in Polk County and graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1986. David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1989 and Law Degree from The University of Miami in 1993. After completing law school David worked for three years at the State Attorney's Office in Polk County for the Tenth Judicial Circuit. He has tried over 75 jury trials. David has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1994 and is also a member of the Lakeland Bar Association, the Polk County Trial Lawyers Association, and the Polk County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th District.

Matthew Kaylor

Attorney

Matthew Kaylor was born and raised in Polk County and graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1990. He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University in 1995 and earned his law degree from Quinnipiac University in 1999. Matthew worked for three years in the State Attorney's Office in Polk County for the Tenth Judicial Circuit before entering private practice. He has tried over 100 jury trials. Carmen Alexander

Legal Assistant

Carmen Alexander was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida when she was almost 6 years old. In 2001, she married her high school sweetheart, Theodore Alexander, and moved from Jacksonville to Lakeland in 2006. Carmen would visit Polk County often as a child to visit her sister who had moved to Lakeland. She now enjoys living close to her siblings and her parents. Carmen received her bachelor’s degree in business management from Southeastern University. After moving to Lakeland, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Southeastern University and as an office manager at the Carroll Group. In March of 2010, she joined the Kaylor Law Group team. Together with her husband, who is a local firefighter, they have two wonderful children. She is an active member of her local church. She is fluent in Spanish. Carmen enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Jessica Hernandez

Legal Assistant

Jessica Hernandez was born and raised in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Thomas Alva Edison High School in 2002 with high honors. Jessica received an internship at Duane Morris LLP two weeks after graduating high school through the Bridges Program due to her academics in high school. Three months later Duane Morris LLP hired her full-time. She worked under the Executive Director, then the Paralegal Manager, as a legal assistant. After three years, Jessica got married to Jose Hernandez, Jr. and decided to move to Polk County, Florida. Jessica would visit Florida as a child when her oldest sister moved to Polk County and had always known that one day, she would call it home. Her parents and siblings now also live in Polk County along with lots of other family members and their kids. She is an active member at her local church for over 12 years. She has been with the Kaylor Law Group since 2012.
